... susan_k "Thank you for your recipe! I tried it in a smaller batch, mixing 1 tbsp sugar with 6 tbsps flour (since 1/4 cup sugar and 1 1/2 cups flour are basically a 1:6 ratio). After reading some of the other comments on here, I decided to first boil a kettle of water and then use the hot water so the flour and sugar would dissolve more easily. After it was mixed so that large lumps were gone, and then added oil like you suggested (also added a splash of vinegar, to see if it would help to preserve longer). It was only at this point that I turned the burner on to medium-low heat and used a whisk to continue stirring in water from the kettle until I got a nice, smooth paste. I got about a cup of paste with these proportions, and i'm very happy with the results :)"
atrumbell one part flour to two parts water works wonderful for paper sculpting. i tear news paper and old books and cover random things using this recipe. you can also add more white glue, as well if you need it "stickier" for yor project. try adding a little cinnamon or coffee ground for a cool effect. Many a homemaker wallpapered her walls with this whitewash method....happy crafting
... jwalker37 To thin the consistency, I replaced the oil with 1/2 Tbs of Vinegar.
